We reached our goal!
Every 90 seconds a woman dies from complications of pregnancy and childbirth. IMOW partnered with Every Mother Counts to create this pledge to reverse these shocking statistics, and tell world leaders that women everywhere deserve safe and healthy birth.
Thanks to your help, we exceeded our goal of 10,000 pledge signatures! On September 25, 2012 in New York City, the names of the thousands of men and women who signed the pledge were presented to UN Assistant Secretary General Robert Orr by Christy Turlington Burns, founder of Every Mother Counts. Your voice will be heard!
I believe that all women have a right to safe pregnancy and birth. I ask my government to keep its commitment to the UN Goal to advance maternal health by 2015 - ensuring that all women have access to reproductive healthcare and reducing needless maternal deaths. I am joining a global movement working to advance maternal health for women worldwide.
